Once my husband and I had children, it became increasingly difficult for me to make it to the gym much less have that gym time together. As a couple without children, we could easily go spend an hour to an hour and a half in the gym together. It was fun and it was something we both enjoyed.
When our babies came along, I usually made it to the gym when I could get out of the house. And a workout only happened IF the baby tolerated staying in the gym childcare. Then of course there were always the sick days when mama had to miss a workout and stay home to care for snotty noses and fevers.
Working Out Together Starts Here
That all changed when my coach and friend introduced me to home fitness… I started with an amazing program called Chalean Extreme. My husband would often join me in the workouts. It felt good to have him there supporting me. I guess I kind of expected him to thumb his nose at some chick on a home video… I’ll be honest, I kind of did at first- until she kicked my butt… and then made it smaller.
Though Matt did some of the workouts with me, it wasn’t until we committed to a full 90 days of P90X that we actually committed to workout together every morning at 5:30 together. Looking back, I don’t know how I did it. My 3rd baby was still nursing through the night. Matt’s support and kick out of bed made all the difference in the world! It was so worth the results though.
Here is why I tell you all of this. I believe deeply in the power of your relationship with your spouse. If you can come together and agree to commit to 60 days of fitness TOGETHER, the results are going to blow you away. And I don’t just mean in the physical sense. You are going to be happier, more relaxed, you will communicate better, you will enjoy your time together more, you will watch that sexy little tush get tighter and feel god about yours doing the same.
This month is the release if and amazing new program by Shaun T called Insanity Max 30.
Here’s a quick preview of Insanity Max30
Don’t let the name scare you… well, maybe a little. If you know Shaun T, you know he is going to MAKE YOU WORK! But here is the deal. Max means YOU get to decide when you max out. You are on a 4 minute and 30 Second interval and you simply go as hard as YOU can and jot down your time when you max out.
The goal isn’t to keep up with the trainers on the video. The goal is to hit your personal Maxed Out point and weekly work to become better.
I can’t think of anything better than to get with your spouse, significant other, roommate, or BFF and do this! It’s going to be hard. It’s going to be fun. It’s going to get you RESULTS!
