I am nearly done with week 2 of 3 of the Ultimate Reset and it has been a doozie! I have learned a lot about myself regarding my habits, my will power, my discipline and my focus. That was really my goal though. As someone who does fairly well with proper and balanced nutrition and who actually enjoys fresh, organic fruits and veggies of all varieties this was just a way for me to challenge myself just a little bit further. I am also in good shape and really have no weight to lose. My big goal is perhaps to see some abdominal definition. I was able to achieve this after my 3rd baby so why not go for it after #4.
This is my second time doing the Ultimate Reset. This round was more difficult for me.
I think these are the biggest factors:
- My best guess is the additional child we have and the fact that my other 3 are older.
- Round one of the Ultimate Reset, I made the Reset food for the whole family and just added meat for them on week 2 and 3. It worked well. This time I didn’t even try.
- Truly, I think it is my own personal lack of planning. Yet something else I have become increasingly bad at.
Things I love about the Ultimate Reset
- It’s just 21 days! Anyone can set their minds on 21 days and accomplish great strides forward- even if it isn’t perfect.
- No workout required: Yep, I get excited about that 😀 When I get burnt out on working out and need to just focus on my nutrition then this is a perfect opportunity to do just that. It is a good baby step for those who have no discipline in either working out or eating well. Light workouts like walking or stretching are encouraged
- The Food: The food is actually really good. Now some will disagree with me- especially those who just hate veggies. But I am not one of those and I find that the preparation and seasonings in the recipes make very palatable meals. There are a couple of recipes I don’t love but still not bad.
- The bathroom: Yep, you will go, but it’s a good go! You won’t be bent over in pain or sent to the toilet 15 times a day. It is a pretty awesome balance they have created with the food and supplements. They did a lot of trial and error to perfect it for you.
Things I Don’t Love About the Ultimate Reset (I’m honest around here!)
- The pill form supplements. It isn’t anything the physically do to me. It is the action of actually having to remember to take them 3 times a day at certain times. I have not done very well at this.
- Food Prep: This is something I have gotten better at. I have learned to prep a bunch of veggies all at once rather than before each meal. This helps tremendously! It really does not help that I do not enjoy cooking. Someday I may just have to hire a chef to take over (insert snicker here).
So far I am down 2.25” and 4 pounds. I’m okay with that. I do feel better and I would like to say I am resting better at night, but I have a baby that still wakes me 2 times a night. Oh how I long for a full night of sleep!
This last week will be my best. I have a grocery list and a plan and when you set yourself up for success then you will likely achieve success- even if it isn’t perfect.
Who Would I Recommend the Ultimate Reset To?
- You really have to be ready. This isn’t going to be for everyone. It may be a pretty drastic change in food choices. That isn’t to say even the die-hard McDonald’s goer can’t do it – it is just going to be far more difficult and you will need and want the support of your coach. Talk to me if you don’t have a coach.
- This is a good transition for someone just completing a fitness program (like P90X3 or FocusT25) and who want a break before starting a new program or a second round of their current program.
- This is a great for someone who just needs to refocus on their food choices (perhaps after the holidays or for a good spring clean).
- Talk to me or your coach to see if this is a good fit for you or if perhaps we should get you started with something a little less food intense. There are plenty of options. Let’s make sure we get the right fit for you!
