Many moms ask me how I do it? How do I run a family and a business and still make time to take care of me? They either assume that I have some sort of super ability to jump out of bed every morning excited about taking on life or they figure I don’t have my priorities straight.
I must say, I don’t consider myself as one who thinks too much about me. Even if I wanted to, it’s not so easy when you are a wife and mother of 4 with home based business. But one thing I realized early in life is that I take much better care of my family and my business when I make it a priority to properly care for me- mind, body, and soul.
I most certainly do not have a super ability to hit the floor ready to workout! Let me just go ahead and start with a confession. Just this morning I had my alarm set for 5:00. I even moved the alarm clock away from the bed so I had to get up. Well, my alarm started buzzing and the first thought that came to my head was “what’s your why” (you know that thing that pushes you even when you don’t want to do something). Then I got up, marched right over to my alarm clock, hit the snooze button, and climbed back into bed. Ugh!!! I really didn’t want to type that for all the world to see, but that’s me! I have my days too!
Not all of my days are like that. But I am also thankful that I am human and people can relate to me when I break out of my super woman shell. With that being said, I also don’t always have my priorities straight. That would probably be part of the reason I hit the snooze button this morning. My house is a mess sometimes- well most of the time and I don’t always have my make-up on. But my husband and children are happy and healthy and I am doing what I love everyday- being a wife, a mom, a coach, a friend and making an impact on lives in the best way I know how- ENCOURAGING OTHERS.
So how do I do it then? How do I manage to run a home, make dinner, clean (lol), get the kids to school, gymnastics, Soccer, play dates, church, cub scouts and various outings, one on one play time, laundry- big sigh here- and then still manage to work out 5 – 6 days a week? I just do it! I don’t let excuses run my life. I have a positive mindset and I know that the good I do for me with proper nutrition and exercise far outweighs anything else I could accomplish during that hour.
When you choose to push play or go to the gym, you can’t be motivated by the number on your jeans or on the scale. You have to do it because of how it changes you on the inside- the outside is just a bonus! When you keep people close that motivate and inspire, you become better too and you pass that on to your family.
Focus T25 is just a 25 minute workout! How can I argue with that? We all have excuses. We all have busy lives and the overwhelming feeling that it can’t all be done. You just can’t think about it. Sometimes you just have to jump in and do it. If you do it for you- you are doing it for your family. Commit to push play 5 days a week for 30 days and see what happens. You can do this and I am here to help! Consider joining me for my next challenge group. Message me for more info and to get signed up.
