I am a champion! I feel it’s only fair that I share when I battle the scale too. Lately it’s been getting in my head and I refuse to let it have power over me. You may look at me and think how silly it is that I would be frustrated by the scale… but alas, I am human. An almost 40 year old human.
You see, I’m 38. I’ll be 39 in September. For years I’ve heard women say that everything goes south when you hit 40. I’ve decided I was going to get a head start on making sure I’m doing all the right things. Nature is nature, but I’m not throwing in the towel just because everyone else says 40 is the beginning of the downward spiral.
When I see some (what I like to call “soft spots”) that I didn’t have before or the scale is at an out of character high point (not just the normal monthly flux), I’ve started asking myself a series of questions and from there, I evaluate any changes I may need to make. They are simple. They are easy. You can do it too if you’re in a similar …shhhhh “almost 40” boat.
Health and fitness isn’t one size fits all. We all need to adjust our workouts and nutrition based on where we are in life. And as we change, we have to change things in our workouts and nutrition so that our body keeps working in our favor.
Here are some questions I ask myself…
Am I snacking too late?
Am I eating out too often?
Am I drinking enough water?
Do I need to cut back on wine?
Do I need to lift heavier weights?
Are my clothes getting tighter?
What do the measurements show?
What do photos show?
What can I add to my nutrition?
Usually when I ask myself these questions I find trigger points that I know I can improve upon. My message to you is to trust the process. Never give up. Keep your eyes on the prize… the gift of health and a long life. Maybe my body just needs a little more softness? . Do your best and let your body tell you what it needs.
We’re in this together!
xoxo,
Rebekah

Ok, Rebekah. I am ready to change my life. You inspire me in so many ways. I have faith in you & I know that together we can change this 62 year old body into at the very least, a fairly healthy one with fewer aches & pains. I am considering Piyo? What are your thoughts?
