Can you imagine reaching a level of success by the age of 35, allowing you to fire your boss, travel the world and work from a coffee shop in Fiji if you so choose? I am going to share a success story with you of a friend of mine who did just that.
Lindsey and I met each other in college. We became house mates as we worked through our studies. She was an accountant major- I was a French major, trying to figure out direction in my life. The image that sticks out in my mind most of Lindsey is her sitting at the table in our kitchen with a hot cup of tea and surrounded by business books. At the time we had no idea how our paths would start to intermingle in the years to come.
I feel this story can’t be fully told without giving at least a little history on our relationship. There really isn’t much need to go into detail regarding the college years. We were women living together- in my book, which is just asking for war. But thankfully, time heals relationships and we became acquaintances once again after college- at least for a little while 😀 Our different personalities and poor communication put yet another strain on our relationship very early in our business together. I am writing this blog today with a smile because of the grace God showed to each of us and how we have yet again come together, forgiven and teamed up as an unstoppable power house. Friend, I ask you as you read this to let this paragraph speak to you. Don’t miss an opportunity to grow and learn simply because of an inability to forgive and move on. The past is the past and the future is FULL.
It was not long after I began my young business with Beachbody that I approached Lindsey with the opportunity. I didn’t know it at the time, but my invite to Lindsey was one of the best moves I could have made from a business standpoint. It was also an even better move for the life lessons we were both able to learn about grace, forgiveness, teamwork and leadership. You see, Lindsey had a job- a good one. She had an MBA and she was earning a nice income and my thought was “why would she want anything to do with my silly little stay at home mom chump change side job?”
It wasn’t long until Lindsey started to see some real value and opportunity in this chump change little side job. I am pretty sure she saw the CRAZY HUGE POTENTIAL before I did. When she saw it, she took off!
Though Lindsey was working full time and dealing with the ups and downs of a deployed Army Ranger husband (who she had only JUST married), she plugged away each day doing the little things she could fit in here and there to grow her business. Little by little, her business was taking off. Just a little over a year after starting her coaching business, she fired her boss and started planning her first trip as a boss-free entrepreneur. One thing you should know about Lindsey is that she isn’t someone who wants to “work from home”. So, she doesn’t. She travels all over the states and the world and her business travels right along with her- unless of course she does not feel like working 😀
Lindsey has created a rapidly growing 6 figure income. She started at ZERO just like every person starting any kind of business. She has done this in just a little over 2 years! She fired her boss, paid off all student loans, credit card debt, auto loans and because she has no mortgage she is absolutely 100% debt free. This allows her not only the ability to travel but when the time is right and her husband has fulfilled his passion for serving and defending his country, he can freely come home and rest in the peace that his family is well cared for. I think every serviceman deserves that kind of peace. Lindsey and her husband are free to GIVE like they never have before. It makes my heart burst out of my chest to see someone make a decision to do whatever it takes and then put a plan into action and then turn it into good for others.
How is this blessing others? Consider her growing team of coaches who have also become financially free and have paid off debt. Add up the countless number of coaches and customers who have become healthier, fit, confident and have come off of medications because of the fitness, nutrition and accountability we provide. It is the ultimate win win for everyone.
Lindsey just completed a test group for a brand new program called PiYo. She is a true testimony of what amazing products we have and the lifestyle we promote. I am proud of Lindsey’s accomplishments and of all of those on her team who never give up and never give in. It is truly a life worth living and a life well deserved.
